The Great Cornish Food Awards

The Great Cornish Food Awards shine a light on those who excel in ways that really matter, recognising the food, drink, farming and fishing champions of Cornwall and Scilly.

The judges will be looking for those who stand out from the crowd in the way they operate and who are driving a secure and sustainable future for the food and drink from this unique part of the country that the world has come to love.

Entries are now open

Applicants must be involved in the production or sale of food and/or drink and have their main base in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly.

Applicants do not have to be a commercial organisation but all applicants need to be able to demonstrate that they are making a positive impact of some kind on the food economy of Cornwall or Scilly.

Closing date: Friday 1st November 2024

Finalists announced: Monday 2nd December 2024

Winners announced: Thursday 6th February 2025, Nancarrow Farm 

The application process is straightforward. Simply choose the award you would like to be considered for and complete the online application below.

If you are entering more than one award you will need to enter all information in each application as they will be judged by different people.

Entries are limited to THREE categories per organisation.

Award Categories

Intended to reflect the positive role fishing can play in a changing world and climate, this award will go to an organisation demonstrating innovation and an aspiration towards a bright and sustainable future for fishing and the oceans.

Intended to reflect the positive role farming can play in a changing world and climate, this award will go to an organisation demonstrating innovation and an aspiration towards a bright and sustainable future for farming and the landscape.

Intended to reflect the positive role food and drink producers can play in a changing world and climate, this award will go to an organisation demonstrating innovation and an aspiration towards a bright and sustainable future for food and drink production.

This award will recognise an organisation that has explored and implemented an idea or concept that is raising their business to a new level and setting a higher bar to inspire others.

This award will recognise a food, drink, fishing or farming organisation that can demonstrate the positive impact a people-first philosophy can have on business success and reputation.

This award will recognise a food, drink, fishing or farming organisation that has helped put the food and drink of Cornwall and/or Scilly firmly on the map.

This award will recognise a food, drink, fishing or farming organisation that can demonstrate the benefits a collaborative approach to business can generate.

The winner of winners will be an organisation with stand-out qualities; a beacon of success that showcases everything that makes Cornish and/or Scillonian food and drink genuinely great.  The winner of this category will be selected from the winners of the other categories and is therefore not open to applications.

Knightor

In 2006 Adrian Derx established two vineyards on the picturesque South Cornish coastline, at Portscatho and Seaton, and in 2011 the first grapes were harvested. Today Knightor grow 27 varieties of grapes, with 40% of the varieties being specialised to produce Knightor’s traditional wine range.
