Better Business

Through our Great Cornish Food development programme, we can help new businesses to find their footing and established businesses to develop, by accessing the right expertise, becoming more efficient and productive, reaching the right customers and finding the right people.

We offer one-to-one mentoring, guidance for entrepreneurs wanting to take the first step, webinars and workshops on how to do business better and events that bring people together to learn from experts (and one another).

Most of this is available to food, drink, farming and fishing businesses in Cornwall or Scilly free of charge. There may be a nominal charge to take part in events.

We also offer more in-depth consultancy through our team and our associated experts. At this level we can generally offer up to half a day’s advice free of charge and any subsequent work on a paid-for basis.

Earlier in 2024 we ran a small grants scheme that enabled businesses to take a step towards becoming more productive.  For some this was a piece of equipment, for others the cost of external advice or product development, or something that will make their processes greener and cleaner.
