Time for Tregothnan
Home The Stories & The People Time for Tregothnan
Growing tea on the banks of the River Fal, with a micro-climate that resembles a cloud forest, Tregothnan is a true food and drink pioneer and winner of the Raising the Bar category in the Great Cornish Food Awards. Already home to a collection of camelias, gardeners soon realised that tea might fare well in the same location.
In the true spirit of Cornish innovation Tregothnan’s gardeners have persevered against the elements to find the best growing methods, planting up to 20,000 bushes a year and harvesting with the world’s first solar powered robotic tea harvester.
